Town’s two new signings from West Auckland, central defender Ben Dale and midfielder Lee Hume, both made their debuts in the team’s first action for 17 days due to weather-enforced postponements. Also making his first start was midfielder Matthew Tew.
The visitors took the lead through winger Jack Stapley, only for the Bonny Blues to equalise before half-time. Tew and Nathan Stephenson both had shots blocked before Town retook the lead.
Dale played an intelligent pass to Tew, who whipped the ball into the box for Stapley to score his second goal.
Manager Jason Newall rang the changes from the bench in the second half, with substitute Alistair Banks scoring Town’s third goal after a great assist from fellow replacement Eddie Thomas.
Stephenson added the fourth late in the game to ensure a happy trip home over the Pennines.
