Match Preview | Boro Rangers (H)

Town go into the season opener against newly-promoted Division Two champions, Boro Rangers on the back of a good pre-season.
5 games played, 5 games won - scoring 19 goals over the course of the pre-season schedule there is optimism that times have changed for the club as we approach the 2023/2024 season.
Team News
Town go into the game with almost an entire squad to choose from, with only young centre-half Callum Luck missing due to an injury sustained in our Darren Poole Memorial Trophy game against Richmond Town - we hope Callum will be fit again soon.
Sean Chidanyika will also be out of contention for Saturday as he looks to come back fully from an injury of his own.
Our Opposition
Boro Rangers come into the game with one competitive fixture under their belt already. They competed in the Cleator Cup last weekend where they lost on penalties following a 1-1 draw against a 10-man Newton Aycliffe.
Manager's View
"We have worked tremendously hard to recruit and mould a squad together. We have had a great pre-season but that counts for nothing. Today is the start of our regime properly and we will see what we can achieve this season. We have tried to get the lads to buy into our way of playing and the work ethic we set has been reciprocated by the lads. We’re hopeful that we can give all of you fans a season to be proud of.
Today will be a tough game against a very well-organised team who are used to winning games. We have a few injuries today but the squad is in good shape and ready to kickstart the season."
See you on Saturday!
