The trophy was presented to captain Liam Darville by Tony’s widow, Sue, flanked by her two sons, Anthony – who is Northallerton’s assistant manager – and Graeme, the former Hartlepool United, Marske United and Spennymoor manager.
Tony Lee, one of the North-East's most celebrated managers, is remembered fondly at both clubs. He won the Northern League First Division twice and also the Second Division with Synners and twice guided them to the FA Cup first round.
He had a brief spell in charge at Northallerton in 1993-94 and also managed Whitby Town, Bishop Auckland and Newcastle Blue Star.
It was another positive performance from Town who showed the strength in depth of this season's new squad with impressive displays from both starters and substitutes.
They beat Pickering Town 3-1 at home in their opening friendly and entertain North-West Counties Premier League side Prestwich Heys, from Greater Manchester, at the Calvert Stadium on Saturday (3pm) in their next warm-up game.
