The club is delighted to announce the arrival of centre-half Josh Allen from Richmond Town as Jason Newall's first signing as Manager.
Josh, 29, teams up again with his former boss after playing a pivotal role in the Richmond side following his move from local side Bedale AFC midway through the 2022/23 season. He went on to make 48 appearances, scoring once, during his time at Richmond.
Josh is a local lad and currently resides in Northallerton and had the following to say upon making the step up to Northern League football and joining the club:
"I can't wait to make the step up to the Northern League and test myself at this level. I know what Jason expects from his players and I'm really looking forward to a successful season with my local club.
I'm a hard-working, no-nonsense defender who is very adaptable and equally at home in a back four or in the middle of a three. I'm keen to keep improving and establish myself at this level."
Manager, Jason Newall on his first signing:
"Josh was the foundation of my Richmond side, he'll give attackers a tough challenge.
"He's an exceptional one-on-one defender who is hard to beat. Josh improved massively at Richmond after his step up from Bedale and this is the next level in his football development.
"He also fits into my model of finding the best local players to play for Northallerton."
