Mackenzie, who has just turned 19, joins from Boro Rangers where he earned a reputation as one of the most promising young defenders in the league.

He is a graduate of the York City FC Academy and represented the Minstermen when former Northallerton players Ben Dale and Jonny Haase were also coming through the ranks.
Mackenzie is a set-piece specialist who scored from a direct free-kick against Redcar Town Men's 1st Team in the CLS North Riding Senior Cup semi-final last season.

"Playing in the final at the Riverside was a highlight for me but not the result (Boro Rangers lost to Yarm and Eaglescliffe)," he says. "I can also play wing-back and my personal goals are to contribute to the team and have a really good season with Northallerton."

Manager Jamie Poole says: "We have tried to get Mackenzie over the line all pre-season, with many clubs interested. He's a great left-sided player who showed his quality playing for Boro Rangers last season.

"It’s brilliant news he’s decided he wants to join Northallerton."
