Jamie Poole Leaves Northallerton Town

Jamie Poole Leaves Northallerton Town

Graham Bell

Northallerton Town have made the difficult decision to part company with manager Jamie Poole.

Jamie joined Northallerton in May after managing Billingham Town and oversaw a major overhaul of the playing squad. Results have been disappointing, however, and the Club currently lies at the bottom of Ebac Northern League Division One after 23 league matches.

Town Chairman Jason Bleanch said: “We would like to place on record our thanks to Jamie for all his hard work and application. He has thrown his heart and soul into the job but unfortunately the results just haven’t come.

“After a damaging series of defeats, it was felt now was the right time to make a change. It wasn’t an easy decision to make but we want to give a new manager the chance to turn our season around.

“With 17 league matches to play, it’s vital we retain our First Division status and improve results during the second half of the season.

“We appreciate everything Jamie has done for the Club on and off the field and wish him every success in his next post.”

Jamie said: “I would like to say thank you for the opportunity. I understand it’s a results business and unfortunately the results didn’t come for me.

“Northallerton is a great club and town and I met some great people and would like to wish you all the best of luck.”

Player-coach Dale Hopson takes interim charge of the squad for Saturday’s trip to Thornaby as Northallerton seek to end a run of five successive league and cup defeats.
