Jamie Is New Town Manager

Graham Bell13 May - 19:19

Northallerton Town have appointed Jamie Poole as their new men’s First Team Manager.

He takes immediate charge at the Calvert Stadium and has brought in former Northallerton midfielder Dale Hopson as player-coach.

Jamie started his managerial career at Billingham Town and was also assistant at Pickering Town following a 20-year playing career in non-league football. His highlights include representing Blyth Spartans in Conference North and reaching the FA Cup third round with the Northumberland club.

His other clubs include Whitby, Consett, Bedlington Terriers, Guisborough, Thornaby and Pickering. He previously spent six years at the Middlesbrough FC Academy and played two reserve games for Boro.

“I’m excited to have been given this opportunity to manage Northallerton,” says Jamie, who works full-time in schools coaching. “It’s a big club with lots of potential.

“I will give it my all and hopefully create some great times for all the people involved with the club, as that’s what they deserve.

“I’ve brought in Dale Hopson as player-coach as he’s got so much experience and is a top player, which will help the club go in the right direction.”

Dale has represented clubs including Huddersfield, Darlington, Whitby, Blyth and Marske and became a fans’ favourite during his two previous spells at the Calvert Stadium.

“I feel like now is the right time in my career to step into a coaching role alongside playing,” he says. “I have played with Jamie for several teams and know how much heart, passion and enthusiasm he puts into football and his sides.

“I’m looking forward to getting to work alongside Jamie and coming back to play for Northallerton this coming season.”

Northallerton chairman Jason Bleanch says: “We’re delighted to welcome Jamie and Dale to the Calvert Stadium. They’ve impressed us with their ambition to achieve and drive the club forwards.

“We wish them every success at Northallerton Town in 2026-27.”
