This was the home side’s second match in three days and, beset by injuries and a demanding end-of-season schedule, manager Jamie Tunstall made five changes from the Shildon defeat.
First Half
Guisborough flew out of the blocks and the danger signs were clear after four minutes when Matthew Tymon smashed a shot against the bar from a corner. Then keeper Jack Norton had to be alert to save from Joseph Pickett.
They went ahead after seven minutes when Nicholas Hood met a Pickett corner at the back post and headed into the net. Northallerton enjoyed some good possession and grew into the contest as the half progressed, but rarely tested the visitors’ defence.

Second Half
Guisborough extended their lead within a minute of the restart, Tymon setting up Jason Blackburn, who struck the ball into the far corner of the net. Eight minutes later, it was effectively over as a contest when the visitors went three up.
Joey Smith worked the ball out to the right for Pickett to deliver a pinpoint cross to Tymon, who headed home.
Northallerton made several changes from the bench to introduce fresh legs, but Guisborough never looked like relinquishing their grip on their final fixture of the season and always looked dangerous when they broke forward.
Although there was no shortage of endeavour from the home side, this was a night when their best moves continually broke down in advanced areas.
